The online briefing will take place on Tuesday, 5 July 2022 at 10.00 am (Athens time). Together with Sotiris Serbos, Associate Professor of International Politics, DUTh and Senior Foreign Policy Advisor, PASOK – Kinima Allagis, we are going to discuss the current escalation between Greece and Turkey.

Among others we are planning to give some answers to the following questions:

  • Greek Turkish relations seem to be in a critical phase and summer is expected to be “difficult”. Why now?
  • What is the connection with the war in Ukraine / Russia’s aggression? If any.
  • Do national elections in both countries play a role?
  • What is the good scenario and what is the bad scenario for this escalation?
  • What could Greece do towards a de-escalation?
