Online discussion: Sexual harassment in local authorities and political parties

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Athens Office is inviting you on Wednesday, 15 December 2021, 7-9pm (CET: 6-8pm) to the online-event «Sexual harassment in local authorities and political parties. From recognition towards creating mechanisms to combat violence against women in the era of #MeToo».

Since November 2019, the Athens office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) has been running a program “Women in Politics” to empower women in Greece active in politics. This year, the women’s network has worked on the #MeToo issue in Greece and how to combat this human rights violation on the level of local authorities and political parties. Together with experts from different European countries the network proposes specific mechanisms to encounter sexual harassment in various forms and to reinforce existing legislation in Greece. The purpose of our public event is to learn about best practices from other European countries and discuss mechanisms and policies that could be set up to tackle sexual harassment on the level of local authorities and political parties.

There will be simultaneous English-Greek translation.
